Bo Bichette has a slow MLB free agency market during the 2025 offseason. Bichette is one of many position players, including Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman, who might be forced to wait until 2026 to sign with an MLB team. This comes after an active MLB Winter Meetings that saw the likes of Pete Alonso and Kyle Schwarber sign deals.

As of now, Bichette’s market has been quieter than others, such as Bregman. This could be due to the 27-year-old’s future at shortstop; however, he has made it known that he is willing to transition to second base, as reported by MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand.

Bichette’s willingness to play at second base could turn him into a more attractive option to organizations. Below, we dive into five landing spots for Bichette as he continues to deal with a slow free agency market.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers would make sense for Bichette if he ends up with a short-term deal with a high AAV. Los Angeles doesn’t have a strong everyday option at second base, so Bichette’s willingness to move position could open the door for a partnership. If so, the free-agent infielder could join the team that beat him in the 2025 World Series.

The New York Yankees are an intriguing option for Bichette. If the Yankees end up trading Jazz Chisholm Jr. to a different team, Bichette could slot into second base moving forward. Chisholm has one year left on his deal, so maybe New York could make it work defensively without trading him, too. Either way, Bichette joining an AL East division rival would be a shocking development.

Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers could benefit from adding Bichette’s bat to their lineup. Detroit has yet to make an addition to its lineup after a terrible stretch of offense to end the 2025 MLB season. The Tigers could use Bichette as a shortstop, too, if Javier Baez takes more work in the outfield. Either way, the 27-year-old free agent would be a much-needed power boost for the team.

New York Mets

The New York Mets are in desperate need of big-time additions this offseason. After losing Alonso and Edwin Diaz, New York traded Jeff McNeil to the Athletics, leaving a hole at second base. Bichette could become the Mets’ new second baseman if he wants to land in a big market. The Mets need Bichette, and it could be the perfect partnership.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays are the most logical landing spot if they fail to sign Tucker this winter. Bichette would return to the only team he has played for during his MLB career with unfinished business. The Blue Jays are looking to win the World Series after losing to Los Angeles in 2025. Bichette played a key role in their last appearance, and a return makes the most sense.
