*PREDICTION*

Not too long ago, veteran outfielder Chris Taylor was a crucial piece to the puzzle for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Following a career-changing move to Los Angeles from the Seattle Mariners, Taylor became a household name in baseball.

Taylor helped the Dodgers win multiple World Series titles, while also making the All-Star team during the 2021 season. His skill set earned him the role of a super-utility star for Los Angeles, and he quickly became a fan favorite.

However, after some struggles over the past few seasons, Los Angeles released the veteran in May 2025. Taylor quickly latched on with the Los Angeles Angels, giving a boost to the Halos for the remainder of the year.

But Taylor is now on the free agent market, and even with his issues over the last couple of seasons, he remains an interesting candidate for teams. Taylor could be a strong, low-risk, potentially high-upside move for any club, giving them more depth across the roster.

Taylor appeared in 28 games for the Dodgers this year, slashing 200/.200/.257/.457 with zero home runs and only two runs batted in. The veteran also posted a 37 percent strikeout rate, leading to his eventual release.

With the Angels, Taylor wasn’t much better, hitting .179 with two home runs and 10 runs batted in, playing in 30 games. While these numbers are a little concerning, the veteran could be looking for a bounce-back season in 2026.

Since the utility player can play all over the diamond and the outfield, teams could use his versatility to their advantage going forward. But his play from this past season could be tough to overcome, and his landing spots could be limited.

Chris Taylor Lands With San Francisco Giants

As Taylor looks for his next landing spot, the San Francisco Giants could be a solid option for him. San Francisco knows Taylor very well from his days with the Dodgers, and the team could look to bring him in as a depth piece.

The Giants need more players like Taylor on the roster as they try to be much more competitive going forward. The veteran could give them some extra leadership as well, making this a decent move to consider making.

Taylor could provide San Francisco with a buy-low candidate for the 2026 season, and if he could turn things back around, this could be an underrated signing. If anything, the Giants could sign Taylor to an invite for Spring Training, giving the veteran a chance to compete for a roster spot.

San Francisco could use the extra outfield help, as well as another infielder, which Taylor can do both of. Overall, this move wouldn’t cost too much, and the Giants could always land a steal from the offseason.
