Merry Christmas, Dodgers Nation! We’re continuing our countdown of the top 10 best Dodgers highlights of 2025, and coming in at No. 6 is none other than future Hall of Famer and southpaw Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw had countless memorable moments during his 18-year career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and one of his biggest came in 2025.

Kershaw joined an exclusive club during the regular season, becoming just the 20th pitcher in MLB history to reach 3,000 strikeouts — and he did it in front of the home fans. The future Hall of Famer’s achievement places at No. 6 in Dodgers Nation’s Top 10 Dodgers Highlights of 2025.

The left-hander needed eight strikeouts to reach 3,000 in his start on the road against the Colorado Rockies on June 26, and managed to get five, setting up a date at Dodger Stadium against the Chicago White Sox on July 2.

He got his first strikeout of the night against former Dodger Miguel Vargas in the top of the third inning, and his next didn’t come until the fifth inning, when he sent Lenyn Sosa back to the dugout.

Kershaw recorded his third strikeout of the night in the top of the sixth inning, catching Vinny Capra looking to secure his 3,000th strikeout. The Dodgers went on to stage a comeback and win the game, 5-4, off of a Freddie Freeman walk-off single.

Upon reaching the milestone, Kershaw became just the fourth left-hander to reach 3,000 strikeouts — the others being Randy Johnson, Steve Carlton and C.C. Sabathia. Kershaw is the third Dodger to enter the club, with Don Sutton and Max Scherzer — who only made 11 starts in Dodger blue — preceding him.

Kershaw’s achievement is just one of the many milestones he reached as a Dodger, and is a perfect way to cap off a brilliant career. Along with reaching 3,000 strikeouts, Kershaw won an MVP award, three World Series titles, three Cy Young Awards, a Gold Glove and made 11 All-Star Games.

The superstar will, without a doubt, go down in Dodgers folklore and fans and players are sure to remember this moment for a long time to come.
