Riley Greene won’t be in the lineup for the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.
The Tigers (33-18) and Cleveland Guardians (27-22) meet at 7:10 p.m. at Comerica Park.
Gleyber Torres, who left Thursday’s game in the fourth inning with lower leg discomfort, will be in the lineup as the designated hitter.
In addition to Greene, catcher Jake Rogers and infielder/outfielders Zach McKinstry and Justyn-Henry Malloy will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.
On the mound, Tigers rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe (4-0, 4.12 ERA) will face Guardians righty Slade Cecconi (0-1, 5.40).
Jobe allowed two runs over six innings in his last start on May 18 against the Blue Jays. He struck out five and retired the final six batters he faced. The Tigers are 8-0 in his starts.
Cecconi, acquired from Arizona in the offseason trade for first baseman Josh Naylor, will be making his second start for the Guardians after missing the start of the season with an oblique strain.
