The New York Yankees are reportedly considering swinging a trade involving Jazz Chisholm Jr. this offseason. Chisholm would be one of the more valuable trade chips on the block if he’s actually dangled in trade discussions.

There are plenty of teams around the league that would make a lot of sense as suitors for Chisholm. His defensive versatility makes him an attractive player for practically any contending team in the league.

Sportsnaut’s Austin Konenski suggested the Yankees could trade Chisholm to the Detroit Tigers in the coming months.

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.

“The Detroit Tigers already have Chisholm’s former teammate Gleyber Torres at second base, but he could slot into third base,” Konenski wrote. “Detroit hasn’t upgraded its lineup after sputtering in the late summer, early fall, and the Yankees’ infielder would help give the lineup a much-needed boost. Chisholm only has one year left on his contract, but the Tigers could use his power to compete with Tarik Skubal.”

Chisholm could slot in at third base for the Tigers and fill the hole that fans want Alex Bregman to fill.

Bregman seems like a long shot in free agency, but adding Chisholm would make up for that.

The Tigers have enough prospect capital to put together a trade package that’s enticing enough to bring the slugger to Detroit. The Tigers would seemingly have enough money to sign him to a huge extension, too.
