As the pitcher market starts to dwindle with MLB free agency continuing, Framber Valdez is now the top remaining pitcher that teams can look to sign, but with this, it will lead to many teams being interested in signing him due to his skills and experience.
*Prediction*
While Framber Valdez will have his choice of teams to pick from, the one team that makes the most sense to sign him is the Detroit Tigers.

When it comes to the Detroit Tigers, they don’t need a true ace, as they already have that with Tarik Skubal. Yet, they need someone that can help round out the rest of the rotation behind him alongside Casey Mize and Jack Flaherty, especially if the Tigers want to give Skubal some extra days off to preserve his health for the entire season.
For this, the Tigers could look to go the experienced route by signing Framber Valdez. With signing Valdez, he is someone that has shown the ability to be on the field as he has rarely missed time, and with this he has also shown the consistency from a production standpoint as well when it comes to his strikeout rates.
With Framber Valdez, he is coming off a 2025 season in which he had a 3.66 ERA with 187 strikeouts and a 1.245 WHIP. With him being 32 years old, there could be concerns that a downfall could be on the way, but with him still coming off a productive season in 2025, there can be hope that he is still a few years away from that.
No matter what, Framber Valdez would provide eight years of experience, and the skills necessary to make an impact in the middle of the Tigers’ rotation to give them the pitching they need to be true contenders in 2026.
