The week between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve is one of reflection and gratitude. Going back over the past 12 months, reviewing what went right and wrong in your life and counting the blessings — big and small — that you received in 2025.
For the city of Los Angeles, there was more right than wrong as the Los Angeles Dodgers provided a swath of blessings for Angelenos, highlighted of course with their epic World Series run that resulted in their second consecutive championship title.

NBC Los Angeles reporter Michael Duarte certainly gave the Dodgers their flowers this year with his Top 15 moments in Los Angeles sports in 2025 list, which included six key moments from the Dodgers this season.
Nothing could top the epic Game 7 that the Dodgers won against all odds, with infielder Miguel Rojas playing the role of the unlikely hero with his game-tying home run — just his eighth of the 2025 season — in the ninth inning.

“The Dodgers’ comeback win over Toronto crowned them back-to-back champions — the first in 25 years — and sealed 2025 as another chapter in Los Angeles’ reign as the City of Champions,” Duarte wrote.
Rojas re-signed with the Dodgers, agreeing to terms on a one-year, $5.5 million deal that will likely represent his final season as a Major League Baseball player. While Rojas’ production as a hitter doesn’t jump off the box score, his clubhouse leadership remains a vital part of what makes the Dodgers tick.
Even after his days as a player are over, Rojas is expected to fill a role in player development with the Dodgers.
“This is my priority,” Rojas told The Athletic. “I want to sign here. I already told the guys my desire to be with this organization. I think we deserve another run.”
Also included in NBC Los Angeles’ list was the signing of Roki Sasaki, who was a postseason hero in his own right and aims to be a vital part of the Dodgers’ starting pitching rotation in 2026 and onward. Additionally, Shohei Ohtani’s epic performance in Game 4 of the NLCS made the list. In the Dodgers’ series-clinching win, Ohtani hit three home runs while also tossing six shutout innings with 10 strikeouts.
Rojas, Sasaki and Ohtani will all be hungry to bring more unforgettable moments to Los Angeles when the Dodgers take the diamond for the first time March 26, when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium.
