Eugenio Suarez

There aren’t many remaining free agent third basemen available, which leads to the market for Eugenio Suarez increasing as MLB free agency progresses. That being said, there are many teams they will be looking to sign him still on top of the ones that have already expressed interest.

*Prediction*

There have been the possibilities mentioned with him returning to the Seattle Mariners, or signing with teams like the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, or Detroit Tigers, but one team that makes sense to be an under-the-radar team to sign Suarez is the Texas Rangers.

Texas Rangers Sign Eugenio Suarez In MLB Free Agency

The current third baseman for the Texas Rangers is Josh Jung, and while he showed flashes in 2025, he also had his fair share of struggles that leave room for doubt when it comes to his future after he ended up striking out 25.2% of the time. Jung has the upside, but he may still be a few seasons away from being able to be a full-time starter.

This should lead to the Rangers looking to upgrade their third base spot as they have missed the postseason for the last two seasons, and need as much talent as possible to get back on track. One way in which they do so is by signing Eugenio Suarez.

When it comes to Eugenio Suarez, he is 34 years old, and coming off a productive 2025 season in which he had a .228/.298/.526 slash line with 49 home runs, 118 runs batted in, an 125 wRC+, and 3.8 fWAR. Suarez would be able to be a much-needed boost to their lineup from an offensive standpoint and would also provide them a boost from an experience perspective that they need if they are going to make it back to the playoffs.
