Hawaii’s Aiva Arquette hosts free keiki baseball clinic at Sandlot Classic

  • December 28, 2025

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Miami Marlins 1st round draft pick Aiva Arquette was back in the islands Saturday morning giving back to local keiki.

The former Saint Louis Crusader and Oregon State Beaver put on ‘Da Sandlot Keiki Clinic.

In partnership with his sponsor Adidas, the clinic was free of charge for kids in 5th or 6th grade.

100 participants were on hand at Central Oahu Regional Park to learn from some of Hawaii’s baseball stars.

Along with Arquette, some local collegiate stars were coaching like Nevada’s Sean Yamaguchi and Hawaii’s Zacary Tenn.

“We’re all playing baseball at a high level right now, so these kids have an opportunity to learn from some really good baseball minds,” Arquette told Hawaii News Now. “So you know we’re excited to just pass it on, pass on the torch and help the younger generation.”

This is the first year Arquette is hosting the clinic in conjunction with the Sandlot Classic, an annual tournament and combine that helps intermediate and high school players get exposure to college programs.

“So yeah, they’re looking at that like, hey, I wanna do that one day,” Aiva’s dad Athens said. “So again it is the cycle continues, man, we’re, we’re so proud of these boys.”

Arquette is now gearing up for next baseball season.

He was drafted seventh overall in the last MLB draft by the Marlins — the second highest Hawaii-born pick ever.
