The post was accompanied by a picture of Union Station lit up in royal blue and described it as a “powerful symbol of a truly generational opportunity rooted in both history and hope.”The post comes as the Kansas City Chiefs announced last week that the team would move across the state line to Kansas. At the same time, Royals owner John Sherman is trying to find where the team will play ball in 2031. The folks at Union Station think that should be in downtown KCMO. “The time has come for downtown baseball, and a return to where the story first began. .. in the heart of Kansas City, where we gather to celebrate its triumphs, traditions, and most cherished moments,” is how the post began.A site the Royals brass has been considering is Washington Square Park in downtown KC. The park is located across the street from Union Station.
