Baseball’s power couple Livvy Dunne and Paul Skenes have been ripped into by fans on social media over an ‘awkward’ and ’embarrassing’ quiz about their love life.

Pittsburgh Pirates star Skenes and influencer Dunne have quickly become one of the most talked-about couples in sport, having started dating back in 2023.

From New York date nights to romantic European getaways, the couple have regularly offered fans an insight into the relationship and did so again in an interview with GQ.

However, things didn’t exactly go to plan for them and, shortly after a clip of the interview was shared on social media, fans questioned how close the couple were.

In a video posted by GQ Sports, Dunne and Skenes quizzed each other about their lives. The former LSU gymnast asked her baseball beau: ‘What was my first job?’

A blank-faced Skenes replied: ‘It’s got to be influencer or gymnast, right?’

Dunne revealed that his guess was wrong, before the Pirates star asked: ‘Have you had a real job?’

A smiling Dunne replied: ‘Yes’. However, Skenes quickly interjected and said: ‘Do you know what my first job ever was?’

‘This is about me right now,’ Dunne replied, while pointing to the question card she held before repeating the initial prompt: ‘What was my first job?’

Skenes said: ‘What you’re doing now?’, which was wrong. Dunne explained: ‘I was a coach. I quit after, like, two weeks. It wasn’t my path. It wasn’t my calling’.

The Cy Young winner then asked his girlfriend if she knew his first job, which she did not. He claimed: ‘I was in the Air Force’.

In 2018, Skenes announced his commitment to attend the United States Air Force Academy and played college baseball for the Air Force Falcons.

On the next question, Skenes asked Dunne: ‘Who’s my biggest baseball hero?’

She answered: ‘I don’t really know. I know someone you’ve admired; Mike Trout. I wouldn’t say like a hero, I know you admire his work’.

‘I’ll give that a point,’ Skenes said. ‘Because I don’t think she knows that I don’t have a hero. I’ve enjoyed watching players and all that, but I do not have a hero’.

Fans quickly noted how little Skenes and Dunne appeared to know about each other and raced to the comment section of the video to make that known.

One comment, with over 1,000 likes, read: ‘Had they ever met prior to this interview?’

Another wrote: ‘That was pretty awkward. Not sure these people should be a couple. Being real. Zero chemistry and he seems extremely unlikable.’

‘I’ve seen less awkward job interviews,’ another user wrote.

On a similar note, one user said: ‘I’ve seen fewer red flags at a bull run’.

‘This is embarrassing to post. Do they even like or know each other?,’ another wrote.

A frigid looking Dunne was seen bundled up in a fir coat as she recorded a video for her TikTok account while mouthing the words to the Wham! holiday classic ‘Last Christmas’.

She was seen walking toward the camera before leaning on Skenes – serving as her ‘shoulder to cry on’, as the song says.

Dunne jokingly captioned the video – calling the Cy Young winner the ‘tallest shoulder ever’.

The famous couple strolled around Manhattan just months after Dunne was denied a purchase of Babe Ruth’s former apartment.Â
