The New York Yankees will head into the 2026 MLB season with familiar faces looking to break through and carry the franchise back to the World Series.

Two of the most important pieces are outfielder Aaron Judge and designated hitterGiancarlo Stanton, who have powered New York’s lineup since joining the Yankees.

Judge is coming off another incredible year in 2025, one that earned him his third American League MVP Award. The 33-year-old veteran led MLB with a .331 batting average and added a .457 on-base percentage, 1.144 OPS, 53 home runs and 114 RBIs across 152 games.

Stanton, meanwhile, missed time due to injury as he often has, but when healthy he remained an offensive force. He posted a .273 batting average, .350 on-base percentage, .944 OPS, 24 home runs and 66 RBIs in 281 plate appearances.

As the offseason continues to unfold, Stanton has taken the time to give back to his hometown community. He recently returned to Tujunga, California to host a special “PLAY BALL” event, part of MLB’s youth initiative designed to introduce kids to the game in a fun and accessible way.

At the clinic, Stanton worked directly with children on hitting, fielding and base running drills while also sharing encouragement about pursuing their dreams. The event was held at the same Little League field where Stanton first played, making it a full-circle moment for the veteran slugger.

Judge noticed Stanton’s move and sent him a supportive message in the comment section. “Love this!!” the comment read, a simple show of support from one Yankees slugger to another.

New York’s Lineup Still Anchored by Judge and Stanton

Eventually both Judge and Stanton will shift their attention back to the task at hand as they prepare for the 2026 season with the Yankees.

This year will mark their ninth season as teammates, a partnership that has defined New York’s lineup for nearly a decade. Judge remains the focal point of the offense while Stanton’s power from the designated hitter spot continues to provide balance and protection in the order.

The Yankees will rely heavily on their veteran sluggers to set the tone both in the clubhouse and on the field as they aim to end a World Series drought that has stretched since 2009.

With Judge’s consistency and Stanton’s ability to change games with one swing, their leadership and production will be critical in shaping the team’s championship aspirations.
