One of the biggest trade rumors throughout this MLB offseason so far has surrounded what the Milwaukee Brewers will do when it comes to Freddy Peralta. It has been widely discussed that the Brewers could look to trade him as he is on an $8 million club option for 2026, and Milwaukee has been known to trade players to get assets in return before they hit free agency for nothing.
*Prediction*
Trading Freddy Peralta now would help the Brewers continue their competitive window, and if they are going to trade him, the Los Angeles Dodgers make the most sense to acquire him.

Milwaukee Brewers Trade Freddy Peralta to the Los Angeles Dodgers
On the surface, the Los Angeles Dodgers don’t necessarily need pitching help as they still have Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Shohei Ohtani, and Blake Snell. Yet, if the Dodgers are going to achieve becoming back-to-back-to-back champions, they need to find ways to advance the team.
Adding to their pitching rotation now before it becomes an issue would be wise for Los Angeles. They lost some depth with Clayton Kershaw retiring, and even started to scale back last season on having Ohtani on the mound as much so he could maximize his impact in the batting lineup. This means that Los Angeles should be looking for pitching help, and they can do so by trading for Freddy Peralta.
By trading for Freddy Peralta, the Dodgers would further showcase the force they are as a team as they wouldn’t be getting a pitcher that just helps in the rotation, but one that is an ace. Just last season, Peralta had a 2.70 ERA with 204 strikeouts, marking hi best season over his eight years in the league so far.
Trading for Freddy Peralta, who still has the upside and has consistently posted strikeout rates above 30% throughout his career, would be the exact trade the Dodgers need to make this offseason to solidify their pitching for the future.
