Former Major League Baseball star Lenny Dykstra has been arrested for drug possession during a state police traffic stop on New Year’s Day.

A Blooming Grove Patrol Unit stopped a vehicle on Route 507 in Greene Twp. for a traffic violation. 

During the investigation, police found Dykstra, 62, of Scranton, the passenger of the vehicle, in possession of narcotics and narcotic-related equipment/paraphernalia, according to the news release. 

Police say that charges will be filed at a later time. 

Dykstra played 12 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. He has served prison time for crimes including bankruptcy fraud and money laundering.
