Here are the EZ Cash of Delaware Inc., Athlete of the Week nominees for Dec. 29-Jan. 4.
The annual Delmarva Shorebirds Hot Stove Banquet will return in February, and a Baltimore Orioles legend will be the featured guest at the 2026 event.
Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famer Ken Singleton is set to be the featured guest at this year’s Hot Stove Banquet, scheduled for Feb. 5 at the Wicomico County Civic Center.
Singleton played for the Orioles from 1975-84, winning the 1983 World Series and making three appearances in the MLB All-Star Game during his tenure in Baltimore. Singleton was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame in 1986.
“We are excited to be able to host Ken as our featured speaker for our Hot Stove event this year,” Delmarva Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters said in a statement. “This serves as the kickoff event for the season and it’s a special way for us to not only get fans excited for 2026 but also give back to our local community.”
Along with the opportunity to meet Singleton, attendees will have the chance to bid in a silent auction of sports memorabilia, featuring items from major league and minor league franchises. Proceeds from the event and the auction will benefit the Shorebirds’ Fly Together Fund.
