In November of 2023, Jason Benetti was named Detroit Tigers play-by-play announcer. After being with the Tigers for barely three years, he may be moving onto a bigger stage.

Play-by-play sportscaster, Jason Benetti, has had quite the career in broadcasting prior to working with the Detroit Tigers. Benetti was the play-by-play announcer for the Chicago White Sox from 2016 to 2023.
Benetti is not just a play-by-play announcer for Major League Baseball, while working for the White Sox, he was also an alternate NBA announcer for the Chicago Bulls. While working for NBC, he did play-by-play for baseball in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Benetti got a big break as an intern for Chicago sports radio station WSCR, which led to him getting a gig at ESPN that moved him into television. He then signed a multi-year contract working for ESPN from 2011 to 2022.
In 2022, Benetti moved to Fox Sports where he does play-by-play for college football and basketball, as well as Major League Baseball. He continues to do all the above as well as play-by-play for the Detroit Tigers.

Is The Tigers Sportscaster Bound For A Bigger Stage?
There may be an unexpected rain delay for the sportscaster play-by-play position for the Detroit Tigers. According to Front Office Sports, current Tigers sportscaster, Jason Benetti, is the leading candidate to be the top MLB play-by-play voice on NBC.
Benetti is no stranger to NBC since he has previously called MLB for Sunday morning games on NBC’s Peacock streaming service. Only time will tell if Benetti stays in Detroit or moves on to a bigger league on NBC.
