Leave it to the Cleveland Guardians to find a fascinating pitcher. That’s what they do.

The latest is Ettore Giulianelli, and he’s from Italy.
Giulianelli signed a minor league contract with the Guardians on Tuesday, according to insider Jon Morosi.
He has pitched in affiliated ball before in the St. Louis Cardinals‘ organization, but he was released after the 2024 season.
Earlier this offseason, Giulianelli agreed to a contract with an independent league team in Illinois.
Clearly, the Guardians usurped that in his priorities list.

So basically, an organization as good at developing unheralded pitchers as any in baseball has landed itself an unheralded pitcher who’s on the rise.
Yeah, this could work out for Cleveland.
