EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEVV) — Don Mattingly will be part of the 2026 Major League Baseball season.
Mattingly will join the Philadelphia Phillies as a bench coach, the team announced Monday morning.
The team will be the second team he has bench coached in the last four seasons. He just wrapped up three years with Toronto Blue Jays as their bench coach, even taking part in his first World Series as a player, manager, or coach this past season.
Mattingly played for the New York Yankees for 13 seasons, winning nine Gold Glove Awards, named American League MVP, and Yankee Captain.
Following his playing career, Mattingly has managed both Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins organizations. He was named NL Manager of the Year in 2020.
