The Los Angeles Dodgers have made only two signings this offseason. A vast difference compared to the previous two offseasons, yet the Dodgers appear to be the winners of the offseason this winter.

One of LA’s signings was adding the league’s top closer, All-Star Edwin Diaz. That signing alone could do wonders for the Dodgers and their bullpen, a unit that was by far their weakest link last season. That could all change in 2026, but time will tell.

The Diaz signing was close to a month ago, and as we get depper into 2026, the question is if the Dodgers will make another splash this winter. No one would be surpised if they do just that, including MLB insider Ken Rosenthal.

In a recent appearance on Foul Territory, Rosenthal sent a warning to the league about how the Dodgers could still make a big roster move, whether that is signing Kyle Tucker or possibly trading for Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal.

“They’re a team, as their own people say, like to hang around the backboard,” Rosenthal said. “What does that mean? If something falls to them at a price they like, they’re there. They cannot be ruled out on anything. That would include a trade for Tarik Skubal, a pursuit of Kyle Tucker, nothing is out of reach for them if it becomes a situation for them where a trade or free agent signing becomes, in their mind, worth the acquisition cost.”

We cannot rule anything out for the Dodgers. They have proven time and time again that they are willing to make big moves if they view it as beneficla for not just now but down the road.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman is uber aggressive, and with some top talent still in the market or available via trade, expect him to do all he can to get the Dodgers over the top once again.

The latest on Tucker to the Dodgers is that LA is believed to be waiting out the market for him. As for Skubal, the Dodgers appeared interested last month, but nothing has materialized on that front.

If the Dodgers are going to make a big splash, history suggests it will come when no one sees it coming.
