The Atlanta Braves announced a couple of moves on Friday, first claiming right-hander George Soriano off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. Then, the club announced that infielder Brett Wisely had been designated for assignment.

Though claimed from the Orioles, Soriano has only appeared in games for the Miami Marlins, where he logged 72 career games, three wins, one loss, and a 5.95 ERA. Shortly after the end of the 2025 campaign, the Orioles picked him up off waivers from the Marlins.

Things are slightly different for Wisely, who suited up for Atlanta in the latter half of 2025 and appeared in four games. He went hitless but recorded 26 perfect frames at second base. Wisely makes the second infielder that the Braves have designated for assignment this week.
