A native of Nizao, Dominican Republic, Marte signed a six-year, $105 million extension with the team ahead of the 2025 season. The deal comes with a player option for 2031.
Marte appeared in 126 games for the team last season, batting .283 with 136 hits, 28 home runs, 72 runs batted in and an OPS of .893.
Marte was originally acquired by the Diamondbacks in the fall of 2016 from the Seattle Mariners, with whom he spent his first two big league seasons, as part of a deal that saw Mitch Haniger go the other way.
In 11 career seasons with the M’s and D-Backs, Marte has batted .281 with 1,273 hits, 171 home runs, 587 runs batted in and an OPS of .823.
Marte has been named an All-Star on three occasions in 2019, 2024 and 2025.
