Former Red Sox minor league right-hander Noah Davis has signed a minor league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to the MiLB transactions log.

Davis elected minor league free agency in October after being outrighted by the Twins in September and not added back to their 40-man roster.

The 28-year-old made his MLB debut with the Rockies in 2022 and has appeared in 27 big-league games, logging 62 1/3 innings with a 9.53 ERA, an 18.5 percent strikeout rate, and a 9.2 percent walk rate.

Boston signed Davis to a minor league deal last offseason and invited him to spring training. He was ultimately cut from big-league camp and assigned to Triple-A Worcester. Before making his WooSox debut, however, the Red Sox traded Davis to the Dodgers while he was meeting with media at Polar Park ahead of the Triple-A season.

Davis’ contract included an assignment clause that required the Red Sox to either add him to the 40-man roster or allow him to opt out.

“I knew I had my assignment clause coming up at the end of spring,” Davis told Beyond the Monster last March. “I just figured with that leverage my goal was to get back onto a 40-man roster somewhere.”

Davis spent a few months in the Dodgers’ system before being designated for assignment in July and claimed by the Twins. He struggled in four appearances with Minnesota, posting a 16.20 ERA across five innings. On September 5, he was removed from the 40-man roster and outrighted to Triple-A St. Paul before electing free agency on September 29.

The Pirates also signed veteran right-hander Chris Devenski to a minor league deal, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

Devenski, 35, spent the 2025 season on and off the Mets’ active roster, appearing in 13 games and allowing four runs over 16 2/3 innings. He struck out 14 batters while issuing five walks. The right-hander also posted solid results at Triple-A Syracuse, where he logged 37 2/3 innings with a 3.35 ERA, attacking the zone while posting a slightly below-average 21 percent strikeout rate at both levels.

Both Devenski and Noah Davis will be part of the competition for bullpen roles in Pittsburgh this spring. They’ll join a mix that includes Dennis Santana, Gregory Soto, Isaac Mattson, Justin Lawrence, and Mason Montgomery as the Pirates sort through their relief depth.
