You know when people are bored and need to create controversy content, that’s the perfect time to talk about trades in baseball. MLB.com put out a column not exactly suggesting the Pirates trade their young Ace this season, but not not suggesting it either. It created enough of a fervent maelstrom that the team’s GM had to come out and actually say that Paul Skenes is not getting moved any time soon. It never fails and it usually comes from some “reporter” that needs to get his clicks count up before the monthly quotas fall in. Never around here would we stoop so low.

Listen, there is no package good enough for the Pirates to even consider a move. They have needs, yes, but their biggest need is making sure Skenes stays in Pittsburgh for life.
