Byron Buxton will be representing his country in March.

The Minnesota Twins outfielder has joined the United States for the World Baseball Classic.

It will mark the first time the 32-year-old Baxley, GA native has played in the tournament.

Buxton had a career year in 2025. He appeared in 126 games, batting .264 with 126 hits, 35 home runs and 83 runs batted in with an .878 OPS and 4.9 WAR.

Originally taken with the second overall selection of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft, Buxton is headed into his 12th big league season.

A two-time All-Star, Buxton is a career .248 hitter with 768 hits, 168 home runs, 436 runs batted in and a .798 OPS in 898 games.

The US will compete in Pool B play alongside Mexico, Italy, Great Britain and Brazil. It sees its first action on March 6 against Brazil at Houston’s Daikin Park.
