Nick Mears and the Kansas City Royals agreed on a one-year deal that will pay the righthander $1.9 million for the 2026 season. (Anne Rogers on X)

Bailey Falter: $3.6 million
John Schreiber: $3.715 million
Nick Mears: $1.9 million

Fantasy Impact:
Mears will make his Kansas City debut in 2026 after being acquired from the Brewers in a trade last month. Mears enjoyed his best season last year, appearing in 63 games and pitching to a 3.49 ERA with Milwaukee. He has seen action in parts of six seasons with Pittsburgh, Colorado, and Milwaukee and has a career ERA of 4.61. He is expected to hold down a middle relief role for the Royals in 2026.
