The trade restaurant moved again.

The Tampa Bay Rays announced their trade with the Atlanta Braves on the 13th (Korea Standard Time).

They announced that infielder Brett Weisley (26) and left-hander Ken Waldichuk (28) will be recruited in cash or on the condition that they receive designated players later.

Tampa Bay has overcome the limitations of the small market with a trade strategy of recruiting and raising undervalued players cheaply and then selling them back at a high price later.

Although it is a very ordinary trade that any team can do, which has brought waived players after the transfer, this is why their recruitment is drawing attention.

Weisley is also a player who has a lot of relationships with Korean players. He played with Lee Jung-hoo for the San Francisco Giants and teamed up with Kim Ha-sung in Atlanta, although last season was short.

He has played in 168 games over the past three seasons and a batting average of 0.214 on-base percentage of 0.265 slugging percentage of 0.319 with seven home runs and 49 RBIs. He played the most games at second base and also experienced shortstop, center fielder, and third baseman.

Waldichuk pitched in 175 2/3 innings in 42 appearances for the Oakland Athletics from 2022 to 2023, going 6-11 with a 5.28 ERA. WHIP 1.4919 innings with 1.5 home runs, 4.5 walks, and 8.4 strikeouts.

He underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2024 and played 51 innings in 16 appearances in Triple-A in the 2025 season, but was sluggish with an 8.65 ERA.

During the offseason, he moved to Atlanta through waivers claims, but this time, he changed his team again.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay waived right-hander Osvaldo Vido and infielder Jung Zonger after the transfer to make room for the two on the 40-man list.
