The Toronto Blue Jays have been patiently waiting on pitcher Alek Manoah to return to the lineup as he has been out for quite so time due to Tommy John surgery in which a new update was just announced.
The Blue Jays starting rotation in currently in a tough spot as they are still without Max Scherzer as well which means they only have four reliable starting pitchers until Manoah or Scherzer return.

According to recent reports, Manoah is expected to throw from the bullpen today in Dunedin alongside Nick Sandlin who is still recovering from his lat injury that took him out a few weeks ago.Nick Sandlin (lat) and Alek Manoah (elbow) are scheduled to throw bullpens Saturday in Dunedin
Andres Gimenez (quad) continues to progress – he took live batting practice against Blue Jays minor-league pitchers in Dunedin on Friday
As Manoah continues to progress, Buck Martinez also added recently that he is currently expected to return to play between the first and second week of August if his recovery stays on time.
According to Buck Martinez, Alek Manoah is expected to return to action between August 1st and mid-August.

This is huge for the Blue Jays but at the same time it is hard to get too excited over since it is still a couple months away and there is a lot of baseball between then and now.
Hopefully the Blue Jays do not base too much on their trade deadline approach on Manoah’s return because there might always some delays.
