TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters (北海道日本火腿鬥士隊) renewed contracts for Taiwanese pitchers Gu Lin Ruei-yang (古林睿楊) and Sun Yi-lei (孫易磊) Thursday (Nov. 13). Both players became official team members in April and May, respectively, during the 2025 season. The contract renewals secure Taiwan’s continued representation in Japan’s professional baseball league.
Gu Lin Ruei-yang pitched in seven first-team games this season, starting five with a 2-2 record and 3.62 ERA. He struck out 34 batters over 32.1 innings despite injury setbacks limiting his playing time. Gu Lin thanked the team for another opportunity and pledged intensive offseason training preparation.
Sun Yi-lei appeared in nine first-team games during 2025, pitching 12.1 innings with a 5.11 ERA in his debut season. He recorded 10 strikeouts, two losses, four holds, and one save while seeking his first career win. Sun pledged offseason training commitment and expressed hopes to help the team win next year’s championship. ◼
