As spring training draws near, MLB Network is rolling out its “Top 100 Players Right Now” rankings to preview the 2026 season. The network is revealing Nos. 60-41 on Jan. 15, Nos. 40-21 on Jan. 19, Nos. 20-11 on Jan. 21 and Nos. 10-1 on Jan. 22.
The countdown began at No. 100 and no Texas Rangers appeared from Nos. 100-81, but two Rangers showed up in MLB Network’s reveal of Nos. 80-61. Of note, Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Wyatt Langford and Jacob deGrom were Texas’ representatives in the top 100 last year.
Here is each Texas player ranked in the MLB top 100 so far and where they were ranked.
50. Jacob deGrom
Rangers
The Rangers’ second ace has found his spot on the list at No. 50 following another elite season.
He shot up the list this year after landing at No. 99 a year ago as he entered the year after a succession of injury-shortened seasons. The 2025 season was a different story though. DeGrom posted 30 starts for Texas and was exceptionally effective with a 12-8 record, 2.97 ERA and 185 strikeouts across 172.2 innings.
His resurgent season was enough to notch his fifth career All-Star Game appearance. The two-time Cy Young winner also finished 8th in that award’s voting this year, earning his first top-10 finish since his 2021 season with the New York Mets.
64. Nathan Eovaldi
Eovaldi was an obvious selection for this year’s top 100 after he turned in an unbelievably good 2025 campaign.
In 22 starts for Texas, Eovaldi compiled a 1.73 ERA across 130 innings with 129 strikeouts and just 21 walks. He finished with an 11-3 record and had a career-best 0.854 WHIP.
His one issue was health. Eovaldi dealt with elbow inflammation and a rotator cuff strain last season, as each injury cost him significant amounts of time and limited his ability to qualify among the league leaders. Had he remained healthy, he would have found himself squarely in the American League Cy Young race.
69. Wyatt Langford
Langford built on his strong rookie campaign and took another step in his sophomore season in 2025.
The young outfielder, who turned 24 in November and appeared at No. 97 in last year’s rankings, racked up 5.6 bWAR across 134 games in his second season. Langford slashed .241/.344/.341, had an OPS+ of 127, blasted 22 home runs and totaled 62 RBIs. His speed is a tremendous asset on the basepaths too, as evidenced by his 22 stolen bases in 2025.
To go along with some impressive offensive numbers, Langford also showed some impressive ability as an outfielder and cemented himself in Texas’ outfield of the future. Baseball Savant has Langford’s arm strength in the 59th percentile, but his range is absolutely elite, falling in the 96th percentile.
He has a chance to continue his rapid rise in 2026 and establish himself as one of the league’s best outfielders.
