Messiah University baseball advances to World Series for first time in program history

The Messiah University baseball team punched its ticket to the NCAA Division III World Series on Saturday afternoon, defeating Salisbury College in the Salisbury Super Regional. The Falcons (36-14) defeated Salisbury 4-1 on Friday and 7-5 on Saturday.”We’re, I think, the lowest seed in the super regionals, and I would not have it any other way,” Messiah head baseball coach Phill Shallenberger said. “This is just us opening our hands and being like, ‘God, what do you have in store for us this year?’ To write a story from starting 1-6 to get to where we’re at.”Messiah will travel to East Lake, Ohio, for the Division III College World Series starting on Friday, May 30.
