Just Baseball Big Ten Preseason Pitcher of the Year (Jan. 15) — Tate Carey was chosen as the Preseason Big Ten Pitcher of the Year from Just Baseball Media. The sophomore held a 9-0 record last year with a team-leading 3.63 earned-run average and 1.21 WHIP. He recorded 51 batters over the course of the season and pitched a no-hitter against Akron as a freshman. Last season, Carey earned National College Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-America honors and was selected to the All-Big Ten Freshman team. Carey is the lone Michigan representative on the Preseason All-Conference team.
