Chicago White Sox sign veteran LHP Ryan Borucki to minor league deal with spring training invite. The 31-year-old reliever adds bullpen depth with a 4.28 career ERA from stints with Blue Jays, Pirates.
The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a minor league contract with left-handed reliever Ryan Borucki that includes an invitation to major league spring training.
Borucki, 31, elected free agency on Nov. 2, 2025, after a season split between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays. He appeared in 39 relief outings in 2025, compiling a 1-3 record with a 4.63 ERA over 35 innings pitched, striking out 32 batters while posting a 1.29 WHIP.
Across his MLB career, Borucki has made 187 appearances with a 15-12 record, 4.28 ERA, 256.1 innings pitched, 214 strikeouts, and a 1.29 WHIP. He debuted with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2018 after being drafted by the team in the 15th round in 2012.
Borucki began his career as a starter but transitioned primarily to relief work. His MLB stops include the Blue Jays (2018-22), a brief stint with the Seattle Mariners organization after a 2022 trade, the Chicago Cubs (2023), the Pirates (2023-25), and the Blue Jays again in 2025.

The signing adds left-handed bullpen depth for the White Sox, who continue rebuilding after three consecutive 100-loss seasons. Borucki’s experience and swing-and-miss ability could make him a candidate to earn a roster spot in the White Sox bullpen in Spring Training.
