The trade discussions are once again amplifying when it comes to the Milwaukee Brewers moving on from Freddy Peralta. The teams most commonly being linked to trading with the Brewers for him have been the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
*Prediction*
These teams all make sense to trade for Freddy Peralta, and it is clear that the Brewers must move on from him now, as they are expected to not have the payroll to sign him to the extension he could seek next offseason. Yet, another team could emerge as the most likely one to acquire him, and that is the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Philadelphia Phillies are going to have to make some adjustments to how they approach the rest of the MLB offseason. They were able to re-sign JT Realmuto and Kyle Schwarber, but they lost Ranger Suarez in free agency to the Boston Red Sox. While they still have a decent pitching rotation with Christopher Sanchez, Zack Wheeler, and Aaron Nola, they need to see more consistency out of Sanchez and need a third top pitcher alongside Wheeler and Nola.
If the Phillies want to make a deep postseason run, they need more pitching help, and they can turn to trade for Freddy Peralta to achieve this. Peralta is coming off a 2025 season in which he had a 2.70 ERA, and 204 strikeouts. Peralta is just emerging into the talent he can become, and is only just 29 years old still despite having eight years of MLB experience.
Freddy Peralta is currently still has one year remaining on his current deal before he hits free agency. This would give the Phillies someone that would help them make a deep playoff run, but also easy to move on from after the season if they don’t achieve a World Series and see the emergence they want out of Sanchez.
