J.T. Realmuto is staying with the Philadelphia Phillies, as multiple reports indicate the veteran catcher is in agreement on a three-year deal to return to the team.

Per reports, the deal will be worth $45 million over three years, with additional incentives in each season to bring it to a possible total value of $60 million.

Realmuto, 34, was expected to stay with the Phillies throughout the off-season, and after the team missed out on signing shortstop Bo Bichette, they pivoted to bring back their two-time All-Star.

Realmuto his .257 with 12 home runs in 134 games last season as the Phillies’ primary catcher, a role he has maintained with the team since he was traded to Philadelphia from the Miami Marlins in February of 2019.

In seven seasons with the Phillies, Realmuto has earned two Gold Glove awards at catcher, two Silver Slugger awards, and has been named an All-Star twice. He finished seventh in Most Valuable Player voting in 2022, after hitting .276 and launching 22 home runs.

In 38 postseason games with the Phillies, Realmuto has hit .232 with seven home runs. He helped guide Philadelphia to the World Series in 2022, where they fell in six games to the Houston Astros.

Over his 12-year career split between the Marlins and Phillies, the Del City, Okla. native has hit .270 with 180 HR and 677 runs batted in. He ranks second among active players with 1,278 games played at catcher.
