The Milwaukee Brewers have shopped around All-Star starter Freddy Peralta all offseason, and The Athletic’s Katie Woo reports the Los Angeles Dodgers are still interested in the right-hander.

The Dodgers have been extremely active already in the offseason, signing All-Stars Edwin Diaz and Kyle Tucker to multi-year deals, and adding a starter like Peralta would be a huge boost to the team.

Peralta had the best season of his MLB career in 2025, posting a career-best 2.70 ERA through 33 starts. His 5.5 bWAR marked the highest in his career as well, and he reached the 200-strikeout mark for the third season running. For his efforts, the veteran received his second All-Star selection and placed fifth in NL Cy Young voting.

Where Does Freddy Peralta Fit With the Dodgers?

The Dodgers have a crowded rotation heading into 2025, with all of their starters from last year — bar the retired Clayton Kershaw — expected to return.

L.A. ran a six-man rotation consisting of Kershaw, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Emmet Sheehan towards the end of last season, and they could very well do so again in 2026 if Roki Sasaki returns to starting as expected.

Additionally, starters River Ryan and Gavin Stone will make their returns from injury in the new season, giving the Dodgers plenty of options for their rotation.

One thing Peralta has over all of those starters, though, is durability. All of the previously named pitchers except Yoshinobu Yamamoto had to spend time away from the mound due to injury in 2025, and the Dodgers definitely felt it towards the middle of the season.

A total of 16 different Dodgers recorded a start in 2025, with 11 recording five or more.

Peralta has made 30 or more starts in each of the last three seasons, and would be invaluable to the Dodgers as a healthy, reliable arm for the middle of the rotation.

The right-hander is entering the final season of his deal with the Brewers and will only cost $8 million in 2026 — an extremely team friendly deal.

The Dodgers have plenty of pieces to trade for Peralta, have plenty of MLB talent to go with the best farm system in baseball, and could very well add another All-Star to their team if they see fit.
