The Boston Red Sox have seemingly been dangling outfielder Jarren Duran on the trade block for months, but they haven’t gotten an offer that fits their liking, so no deal has come to fruition.

But they could still cut ties with him in a trade this offseason. There are plenty of teams that could fit as a suitor for the All-Star MVP outfielder.

Just Baseball’s Jordan Leandre put together a huge trade package that would send Duran to the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for Angel Genao, Cooper Ingle, and Hunter Gaddis.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran

“As mentioned before, the Red Sox are in need of infield help with the departure of Bregman. While Genao won’t be MLB-ready on Day 1, the Red Sox can piecemeal it together with David Hamilton, Romy Gonzalez, and a dream while this switch-hitter develops more,” Leandre wrote. “Maybe the Red Sox want the more established Franklin Arias or Brayan Rocchio instead, but I think they’d prefer getting the high-leverage reliever in Gaddis. The right-hander nearly doubled his ERA from 2024, but he had a really rough go of it in June.”

The Guardians need to add an outfielder to hit at the top of their order alongside Steven Kwan and Jose Ramirez. Duran would be the perfect option, even if it would cost them a haul to land him.

The Red Sox would benefit greatly from adding Gaddis to their bullpen. He would fit as the seventh or eighth inning guy while Aroldis Chapman locks down the ninth inning. Ingle would fit nicely in the Red Sox’s farm system as their next star catcher, while Genao would compete for starting infield reps down the road.

The trade package proposed would seemingly work for both sides.
