On Wednesday, Bo Bichette was officially introduced as a member of the Mets.

In his first press conference in Queens, despite having traded in his white and blue for blue and orange, Toronto was still on his mind. So much so that after reporters dispersed to write their stories, Bichette shared a message with Blue Jays reporter Hazel Mae to pass along to Toronto’s fans.

“Dear Blue Jay Fans,” Bichette began in a message shared on X/Twitter.

“If I wasn’t going to retire as a Blue Jay then I’m grateful we had Game 7. The moment we shared in that game was just one detail away from all I could have wished for us together. I could not wish more that l’d delivered you a Championship.

“I will carry your show of belief in me when I returned for the World Series for the rest of my life. Thank you. You watched me grow up. You lived with my ups and downs. You encouraged me anyway. Thank you. Toronto will forever be a piece of my heart.”

Bichette’s tenure in Toronto was defined by elite hitting. . Over seven seasons, Bichette earned two All-Star selections (2021, 2023) and led the American League in hits in back-to-back seasons (2021 and 2022).

He capped off his memorable run in Toronto during the 2025 season by becoming the first shortstop in franchise history to reach 100 career home runs and delivering a signature moment with a three-run home run off Shohei Ohtani in Game 7 of the World Series.
