Milwaukee Brewers infielder Caleb Durbin joined Wisconsin’s Midday News while traveling the state on a Brewers community tour, calling the outreach a meaningful way to connect with kids and represent the organization off the field. The Illinois native said this is his first real chance to be involved locally after arriving in Milwaukee following the offseason trade that sent Devin Williams to the New York Yankees.

Durbin reflected on being traded himself, describing how sudden the call can be and how bonds with former teammates never really fade. He also addressed the recent trade of Freddy Peralta, noting Peralta’s importance as both a clubhouse leader and cultural connector, while expressing confidence in the Brewers’ long-term direction.

Away from baseball, Durbin shared how academics shaped his path, recounting his time at Washington University in St. Louis and the high standards required to get in. He said those experiences are something he enjoys passing along to young fans as the team prepares for spring training.
