ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Minnesota Twins are preparing for the sunshine in Florida for spring training, but have a few stops to make before heading out, which includes the annual Winter Caravan.
The four state, nine city tour made a stop in Rochester on Thursday afternoon. The first stop being at the SPARK Museum for a public event and then heading to Mayo Clinic.
At SPARK, pitchers Mick Abel and Justin Topa were joined by bullpen coach LaTroy Hawkins, TV Announcer Cory Provus, and T.C. Bear. The event started off with a story time of the book “Goodnight Baseball” and then everyone got a chance to play and partake in a meet and greet. It was just another way for fans to get excited for the upcoming season.
“Its fun going all to all the different cities around Minnesota and in the region and being able to spread our knowledge of the game, knowledge of the Twins, and our experience through Twins baseball,” said right-handed pitcher, Mick Abel. “Its pretty special.”
The Caravan will continue with the Alumni leg on Saturday and will be back again on February 11th. The Twins home opener is Thursday March 26th, in Baltimore against the Orioles.Â
