HOWARD (WLUK) — One Milwaukee Brewers player shared his reaction to the team trading ace starting pitcher Freddy Peralta to the New York Mets.
Infielder Caleb Durbin and pitcher Chad Patrick visited Howard Elementary School Thursday as part of a previously scheduled stop on the team’s offseason tour.

Durbin said Peralta was an important part of the Brewers team that recorded the most wins in Major League Baseball in 2025 and reached the National League Championship Series.
“Freddy meant a lot to us. He was a great guy in our clubhouse. Obviously, what he does on the field speaks for itself, so obviously there’s a loss there,” he said.
Durbin said, despite the loss of Peralta, he is still excited about the 2026 season.
“The Brewers do a really good job at bringing in the right people, so hopefully we’ll be able to replace Freddy in a good way.
