MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) – The Minnesota Twins announced on Friday that former broadcaster and current special assistant Dick Bremer has been elected to the team’s Hall of Fame.
Bremer will become the 42nd member of the Twins Hall of Fame once he is inducted on Saturday, Jul. 11, when the Twins host the Los Angeles Angels at Target Field.
The club says its Hall of Fame is designed to honor players, managers, coaches and off-field personnel, who helped contribute to the organization’s growth and success over the years.
“For 40 seasons Dick Bremer wasn’t just the voice of Twins baseball, he was woven into the fabric of it,” Twins President of Baseball & Business Operations Derek Falvey said. “His love for the game, this team, and his home state of Minnesota came through every night in a way fans could feel. Dick’s voice didn’t just describe the moments on the field. Over time it became part of how generations of Twins fans remember summers, pennant races, and unforgettable moments that stayed with them long after the final out. That kind of connection is rare and special. Honoring Dick with his election to the Twins Hall of Fame is a fitting celebration of what he gave to this organization, this community, and everyone who loves Twins baseball.”
Bremer began his Twins broadcasting career in 1983, with Spectrum Sports. He remained as the team’s play-by-play announcer through the 2023 season, before transitioning to a special assistant role with the Twins.
The club also noted that Bremer is the longest-tenured television broadcaster for a single team in MLB history, along with being the longest-tenured broadcaster in Twins history.
