TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The College of Southern Idaho baseball program began its 2026 season with a road doubleheader against 21st-ranked Pima Community College on Friday, falling 5-2 in the opener and 6-0 in the nightcap.
In the first game, freshman Stetson Critchley connected for a home run in his collegiate debut, knotting the score early for the Golden Eagles.
CSI collected hits from Tayson Howard, Ryder Cutlip, Sawyer Slade, Cooper Scott and Stockton Fowlks, out-hitting Pima overall but struggling to deliver in clutch situations to generate additional runs.
Starter and Oregon State commit Grayson Riding absorbed the defeat on the mound, working four innings while allowing two earned runs on two hits and recording four strikeouts. Caden Fenger handled the final two frames, surrendering one earned run on three hits with one strikeout.
The Golden Eagles managed just two hits in the second contest, with Cooper Scott and Trey Purser accounting for CSI’s only offensive production against Pima’s pitching staff.
Utah Tech commit Degan Rigby suffered the loss in game two, lasting four innings and yielding six earned runs on five hits. Relievers Jackson Gardner and Will Grizzle each contributed one scoreless inning.
CSI will face Pima again Saturday at noon in a single nine-inning contest.
