The Cincinnati Reds are currently in the process of finalizing their offseason moves. Cincinnati may still look to make a few more additions before spring training. With that being said, the ball club is also gearing up for the spring. On Friday, the Reds invited the following six players to spring training as non-roster invitees: C Connor Burns, INF Cam Collier, C/INF PJ Higgins, RHP Yunior Marte, LHP Anthony Misiewicz and C Michael Trautwein.
Burns and Trautwein are both catchers who are looking to reach the next level. In 2025, Burns slashed .172/.272/.333 between A+ and AA. Tautwein recorded a .205/.392/.370 slash line between A and Double-A. Both backstops will look to impress the Reds this spring.

Collier, 21, played in three minor league levels in 2025, with the highest being Double-A. Overall, he hit .279/.391/.384 between the three levels. Collier is a third baseman who is hoping to reach the next level in 2026.
Higgins offers versatility as catcher and an infielder. He can play behind the plate in addition to either of the corner infield spots. The 32-year-old has some previous MLB experience, but spent 2025 in Triple-A and hit .240/.300/.345.
Finally, Misiewicz and Marte are set to participate in spring training.
Misiewicz, a 31-year-old left-handed pitcher, has made 136 big league appearances. In 2025, he pitched to a 3.82 ERA in 28 games at Triple-A and to a 9.64 ERA across five big league contests with the Minnesota Twins.

Marte, a 30-year-old right-handed pitcher, has made 102 MLB appearances in his career. He last appeared in a game in 2024, when he made 23 appearances out of the Philadelphia Phillies bullpen and turned in a 6.92 ERA.
Some of these players are looking to advance their professional careers. Others are looking to get their careers back on track and earn another chance in the big leagues. All six players are set to receive opportunities to accomplish their goals this spring. A strong spring training performance could lead to a minor league promotion or even possibly an MLB call-up down the road.
Of course, catching a team’s attention as a non-roster invitee during the spring is difficult. In order to do so, a player needs to work extremely hard and have an outstanding performance on the field. It will be interesting to see if any of the aforementioned six players can have a big spring with the Reds.
