MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Milwaukee Brewers RHP Freddy Peralta was traded to the New York Mets for Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. 

BREAKING: The New York Mets have acquired All-Star right-hander Freddy Peralta in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers, sources tell ESPN. Deal is done. Top prospects Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat are headed to Milwaukee. One more big league pitcher will head to the Mets.

A front-line starter for the Brewers, Peralta lived up to the billing as he went 11-9 with a 3.68 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 2024. In 2025, Peralta had his best season as a Brewer starter going 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA and 204 strikeouts. 

Williams was one of the top prospects for the New York Mets. He hit .209 last year with the Syracuse Mets, and .281 with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. 

He was taken 14th overall in the 2022 MLB Draft. Sproat meanwhile, saw limited action with the Mets last year, as he went 0-2 with a 4.79 ERA in four games started.
