You can never have enough pitching depth.

That’s what the Toronto Blue Jays‘ signing of right-hander Connor Seabold appears to be – a depth move. The 30-year-old agreed to a minor league contract with the reigning American League champions on Wednesday, according to Toronto’s transactions log.

Seabold has an ugly 7.79 ERA in 40 career games, making his Major League debut in 2021 with the Boston Red Sox. He threw a combined 10.1 innings in 2025, split between the Tampa Bay Rays and Atlanta Braves.

Seabold’s career in South Korea

A poor 2023 season with the Colorado Rockies led to Seabold pursuing a starting pitching opportunity in the Korea Baseball Organization the following year. He made 28 starts with the Samsung Lions and posted a 3.43 ERA.

Given the depth the Blue Jays’ bullpen contains, Seabold is likely to start the upcoming season at Triple-A Buffalo.

He was a third-round selection of the Philadelphia Phillies in 2017.
