LSU’s Jay Johnson sounded like a confident coach at his preseason press conference Friday afternoon.

Johnson should feel comfortable with his situation since the Tigers have won two of the last three baseball national championships. Moreover, unlike the case in 2024 – the last year following a national title, LSU has a solid core of players to make another run at the crown.

Johnson mentioned at least 15 players during his 50-minute session with the media.
