Paul Skenes won’t be the only Pittsburgh Pirates star competing in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

Outfielder Oneil Cruz led the Pirates in home runs (20) and stolen bases (38) during the 2025 season and will try to help the Dominican Republic win their first title at the World Baseball Classic since 2013.

Skenes will look to lead Team USA to their second WBC championship.

The Americans captured the crown in 2017 and finished as the runner-up to Team Japan in 2023.

The tournament takes place from March 5 to 17.
