LSU baseball is the betting favorite to win the College World Series in 2026. According to Fanduel, the Tigers have +750 odds to take home the national championship. It would be their second in a row and third under head coach Jay Johnson.
Following LSU with the second-best odds is UCLA, which has +900 odds to win the national championship. The two teams met in Omaha last year. The Tigers came away with a 9-5 win in a game that took two days to complete due to weather delays.
Georgia (+1400), Tennessee (+1500), Texas (+1500) and Arkansas (+1600) round out the top six with the best odds to win the title. Betters once again consider the SEC to be arguably the best baseball conference in the country.
LSU has much to rebuild ahead of the 2026 season. It lost its top battery in catcher Luis Hernandez and starting pitchers Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson. The Tigers must rebuild their infield as well, but head coach Jay Johnson went to work in the transfer portal to bring in experienced players.
Steven Milam is the only returning starter at the infield. LSU projects to start Grand Canyon transfer Zach Yorke at first base alongside Brayden Simpson (High Point) and Trent Caraway (Oregon State). Yorke and Simpson hit over .300 in 2025 while Caraway batted leadoff for the Beavers, who made it to the College World Series a season ago.
