The College Baseball season begins 15 days from now. On Thursday, the ACC released its preseason coaches poll. Florida State was ranked No. 3 by the league’s 16 head coaches:

FSU received one first-place votes. The preseason favorite, Georgia Tech, earned seven of the possible 16 first-place votes. They were separated by just one point from No. 2 North Carolina, who earned six of those first-place votes. Clemson was the only other school to receive first-place votes (two). 

The Seminoles’ ACC schedule includes home series against No. 6 NC State, No. 8 Miami, No. 12 Notre Dame, No. 13 Duke, and No. 14 Pitt. Florida State will travel to No. 1 GT, No. 5 Clemson, No. 7 Virginia, No. 9 Wake Forest, and No. 10 Stanford. Conference play for FSU begins on March 13 in Winston-Salem. 

Eight ACC teams are ranked in D1Baseball’s preseason top 25: No. 4 GT, No. 8 UL, No. 11 UNC, No. 16 FSU, No. 17 NC State, No. 19 Clemson, No. 21 WF, and No. 22 UM. Last season, nine ACC teams made the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Louisville was the lone ACC team to make Omaha. 

The Seminoles open the season by hosting James Madison at Dick Howser Stadium for the fourth time in the last five years. First pitch of the season will be at 5:00 p.m. on February 13.
