Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has found another product he can get behind.
In a sponsored post published on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Jan. 28, Larkin appears in a Team USA-affiliated commercial for Charmin where he fills the bowl with monotone toilet humor. Check it out below.
“When [expletive] gets slick, gotta play stronger,” Larkin says in the commercial while holding two squares of toilet paper. “Gotta emphasize that back check and leave nothing behind.”

Larkin’s delivery has received noteworthy responses on social media, with @moreitscider on X posting, “The thing about a Dylan Larkin commercial is that his monotone yet earnest delivery will make it funny every time.”
The commercial also got responses from fellow Detroit athletes, including Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal who left a comment under the video on Instagram.
“Typically prefer ultra soft but I get it 💪🏻,” he wrote.
Larkin is no stranger to rear-end product placement, with the Red Wings forward explaining his “hockey butt” problem in a 2019 commercial for clothing brand State and Liberty. He’s also a brand ambassador for Greyson, a Detroit-based clothing store with locations in five U.S. states.

He also recently appeared in a commercial for Sheetz published on his Instagram page on Jan. 15, as the gas station and convenience store chain continues to open new locations around Michigan. In the commercial, he (and many Michiganders) learn what a Sheetz Shmiscuit is.
Is it fitting that Larkin turned to Charmin soon after?
